REBOUND Videos
REBOUND is a media based project. We work with 10 different short fims which are all based on true stories and deal with different topics such as motivations for drug use (fun, curiosity, pain etc.) and treat different aspect of drug use. Through role play and by carefully observing the characters and their motivations we learn about the reasons that drive people. There are different categories of REBOUND-videos on this page:

How do we work with films in the course?
The short films are an important part of REBOUND. They show real stories of young people and adults. They always show a short situation from a person’s life. The persons in the films have various experiences with legal and illegal drugs.
Where do these real facts, situations and stories come from? From 2002 to 2011, a team of researchers followed 320 young people from different schools and back-grounds - over the course of eight years, from when they were 14 to 22 years old. Many of these young people have told us how they have coped with of alcohol and other drugs. Their stories form the basis for the films. We took small situations from these life stories and wrote scripts. The situations vary particularly in the reasons the people had for using alcohol, cannabis or any other drug - their motives, so to speak. Based on these scripts, our directors Stefan Hillebrand and Sebastian Linke improvised the film scenes with our actors.
You may recognise some situations you have already experienced yourselves. Can you see what strengths and weaknesses the film characters show in their use of alcohol and other drugs? You should take the films apart thoroughly, analyse them and put them together again in your head: why do those people act in the way they do here? What consequences does it have for them? And who has the 'Magic 7' and who does not have them?
For each film, you will find a summary (film story) and some real facts about the person (real story). We will watch the films during lessons and work with them using various methods. We will discuss the films in order to improve your perception and to compare you and your friends with the persons in the films.
At least one commented version ('lab version') exists for each film. In it, you will see how the actors and other people think about the film characters.
You can find all the films on the REBOUND website's login section, some are also on our YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/reboundvideochannel). Some e-learning questions can be found in the films. If you watch the films carefully and answer the online questions, you will be able to continuously improve your observational abilities and your 'gut feeling' concerning the risks. In addition to that, you can test your knowledge. There are always new things to discover in the films.
